Bring-A-Friend Week is here. From Monday, August 3 through Saturday, August 9, you can try CrossFit at CrossFit Wichita completely free — every group class on the schedule is open, and so is a free nutrition consult. No commitment, no catch. This post is your walk-through: who it's for, exactly what happens when you walk in, what to wear, how to save your spot, and — if you're already a member — how to finally bring the friend you've been meaning to.
Who this week is for
If you've never set foot in a CrossFit gym, this week is for you. If you've driven past us for a year telling yourself "someday," this week is for you. If you keep promising a friend you'll come "next week" — this is next week. And if you've been grinding toward a fitness goal alone and you're tired of doing it without a coach in the room, this week is for you.
The only people Bring-A-Friend Week isn't for are the ones who don't show up. Everyone else is welcome.
What to expect when you walk in
Here's exactly what a free class at CrossFit Wichita looks like, start to finish, so there are no surprises:
- A coach greets you. They'll introduce themselves, walk you onto the floor, and ask what you've done before and whether you have any injuries or limits to work around.
- You meet the class. You won't be the only newcomer that week — we expect first-timers, and the members will introduce themselves. Someone will probably ask who you came with.
- The coach walks through the workout. Every class starts with a movement-by-movement breakdown: what you're doing, why you're doing it, and how to scale every piece of it to your body and skill level.
- You train. The workout itself is usually 8 to 20 minutes of work. You'll be scaled, you'll be modified, and you will not be left to figure it out alone or pushed past what your body can safely handle.
- You finish. Every workout is scaled so everyone, at every fitness level, finishes. You'll be tired. You'll be sweaty. You won't be broken.
- You talk to the coach after. They'll ask how it felt, answer your questions, and if you want to come back, help you find your next class.

It's not just the workouts — your free nutrition consult
Your free week includes more than classes. You also get a sit-down nutrition consult with one of our coaches. No crash diet, no rigid meal plan to follow — just an honest conversation about what you're eating now and a few simple changes to point you in the right direction. Training and nutrition are the two halves of real results, and this week you get a taste of both.
What to wear
Keep it simple. Shoes you can run and lift in — regular athletic shoes are fine for a first class. Clothes you can move and sweat in. A water bottle. That's it. You don't need a CrossFit shirt, and you don't need to bring anything else.
How to save your spot
Hit the Save My Spot button and fill out the quick form. Pick your day, pick your class, and show up about ten minutes early so you have time to meet your coach and find your way around.
Already a member? Here's how to bring a friend
If you're already part of CrossFit Wichita, this is the week we need you. We can run the event and post about it all day — but the people who actually walk through the door this week walk in because someone they trust told them to.
So pick one person. Text them today. Tell them you've been training somewhere good and you want them to come try a class with you. Send them the link, and walk in together. That's the whole mechanic — members bring members. It's how a lot of our best people found us.

The hardest part of starting at any gym is walking through the door the first time. This week, the door is open and the cost is gone. All that's left is the walk in.
